“TIGERS” Transforms Businesses into Ferociously Successful Teams
New book details how five outstanding companies use six simple TIGERS principles to excel---and your business can too.
Bend, OR (12/15/09) -
What makes a good company great? TIGERS Among Us: Winning Business Team Cultures And Why They Thrive, reveals what four successful companies have in common that makes them thrive in any economy.
Author and organizational leadership expert Dianne Crampton has spent 20 years studying and analyzing how businesses work. She has a proven track record of turning troubled companies and organizations around with six key team-building principles she calls TIGERS: Trust, Interdependence, Genuineness, Empathy, Risk, Success.
“I help remove obstacles so people from the loading dock to the CEO’s office can do their jobs well. The bottom line is, I’m a teacher. I love to help people succeed. TIGERS explains how I help leaders build teams where their employees care as much about the company as they do,” Crampton said.
Crampton was instrumental in the effective merger of warehouse club giant Price/Costco; she played a key role in the merger of Northwest Medstar, and her work with Native Americans was featured at a United Nations conference on cooperation and excellence in the workplace.
TIGERS Among Us takes a rare, in-depth look inside four cutting edge companies: Zappos.com, Dos Gringos, 4Refuel, and Tribe, Inc.
Crampton details how both large and small companies can create highly motivated workforces that are collaborative, team-focused and exemplify the TIGERS concepts. “While most companies are satisfied with a comfortable market share, these five organizations often achieve market superiority with roaring success,” she said.
After each company’s chapter, Crampton offers summary “action items” that businesses and organizations can use to brainstorm and help increase their own success.
“It’s no accident that these are highly successful companies. All five have remarkably happy and dedicated employees, from the boardroom to the break room and beyond. The TIGERS values are the key to building ethical, quality-focused, productive, motivated and enthusiastic groups of people inside and outside of the workplace,” Crampton said.
TIGERS Among Us will teach you:
- Why companies with individualistic cultures are out, and those with collaborative core values are in.
- Why the human desire to make a difference and is rarely tapped by traditional national and international business leaders.
- How companies can attract and retain happy, hardworking staffs, plus increase profits in a down economy.
- A step-by-step approach to assess your company, improve team culture, and become more productive and successful.
In TIGERS Among Us, Crampton examines the history and development of team culture in business, while providing a foundation for companies to assess and improve their own team cultures. The book’s rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes workings of five innovative companies in TIGERS Among Us will fascinate and inspire you.

Local Consultant Contributes Chapter To Global Human Resources Consulting Book
Bend, OR (11/12/09) - An article by Bend management consultant and team-building specialist, Dianne Crampton, has been published in the global 2010 Pfeiffer Consulting Annual (John Wiley & Sons). For four decades, the Consulting Edition Pfeiffer Annual has provided thousands of trainers, consultants, educators, and managers with up-to-date information and tools to help make organizations more effective.
Crampton is the owner of Bend-based TIGERS Success Series. Her article, “Forming TIGERS-Hearted Teams,” discusses collaborative workplace cultures that pay attention to behaviors such as trust, interdependence, genuineness, empathy, risk and success (TIGERS). Crampton’s chapter in the 2010 Pfeiffer Consulting Annual discusses a leadership model that provides a foundation for team-building success. She shows in practical terms how businesses can quickly improve group harmony and, as a result, increase productivity.
In February 2007, the U.S. Small Business Administration reported that small businesses comprised of 500 or fewer employees are the largest employment segment in the country. They are the backbone of the U.S. economy. Yet many of these companies, some strikingly fast-growing, find themselves struggling with issues such as attracting talented team members and sustaining growth. A survey conducted by TIGERS Success Series concluded that the number-one reason talented employees leave companies is because they will not accept a poor company culture or attitudes that violate values such as trust.
Dianne Crampton’s new book TIGERS Among Us: 5 Winning Business Team Cultures And Why will be released in March, 2010. Learn more.
